We use Servers Alive. It has a few of what appear to be programmer-driven
interface quirks. We import the configuration file into a spreadsheet to
avoid the interface when necessary. But, we are happy with the
convenience/cost tradeoff since it has been accurate and robust.

Version 4 has a new interface that makes managing dependencies much easier.
