Having a mailbox over 2GB is completely unreasonable. Remember that all these messages reside in a single, huge .MBX file on your server. Any operation in Web messaging that refreshes the screen implies opening and scanning such a monster file. For illustration purposes, open one of those 2 GB using Notepad (just to get IMail out of the picture) and note the delay... As an other illustration, let's see how many pages it would take to print all those messages using about 2 KB per page: 1 million pages. Now imagine a traditional mailbox next to your door contraining 1 million pages worth of messages. (If I were the postman, I would stop delivering to your mailbox!) I am amazed that you don't have problems with those services as well, albeit somewhat lesser ones, but slowness nonetheless...
