all. Usually this is about 5%-10% with 50-70% available all the time.
Since the delay is so long and is easily repeatable, just what is Task Manager showing is happening during these delays? If CPU isn't busy (never was my first suspect), then the disk must be doing something (always my first suspect with huge disk files, duh).
If neither CPU nor disk is busy, they there is probably some kind of bogus resource locking conflict which would be an app or app + OS issue.
(If you aren't MS, you can never be sure your app will work on an MS OS, or work as well as the competing MS app).
Run a disk sequential large-file i/o benchmark with a file in the same partition as the problem mbx files.
I still cannot agree IWEBMSG is not involved if previously on the same setup 5.x was 2 seconds. The drives are defragged daily, 2.6GB paging file with 1GB ram on Win2K Server. After reviewing all of these issues Ipswitch says it is the hard disk. Their recommended 8GB lower limit is what I am using. They recommended a 40GB drive
The size of the hard disk is not an issue if the disk is not full and has plenty of workspace. if you're using 4 of 8 GB, going to 40 GB won't help Imail (but will speed up defragging)
