See, now that wasn't so hard. I new you had some valuable knowledge! >I believe your exact question of me (a replay to my post on an unrelated >thread to your original question was: > >> -- >> >> Oh my god!!! >> What does it take to get any help around here?? >> Please, can someone offer some advise on an issue that I have?
It was not directed at you specifically. It was directed at everyone that was taking part in that ridiculous thread! All these smart people, and you guys chose to waist your $100/hr time by debate the validity of someone's response based on the fact that he had suggested that the person use Declude. I would like to see what kind of reaction your superiors (or clients, in your case) would have, knowing how you spend your workday!!! And please don't start another thread based on this comment. >(and I still have no idea what you want to do, your >example rules both delete and reroute spam): That is exactly what I want to happen. Based on the X Header I either want it deleted or rerouted. >both the first rule and the third rule should trigger. Is "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" >a valid email address at your domain? That's what I can't understand. Most spam is picked up but for some reason some slips through. [EMAIL PROTECTED] is just an example, the actually email address that I use is valid. >Is the message being deleted or being routed to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] >address? None of the rules triggered. It simply was delivered to the "To:" address. >Are any of your rules working? Yes, all do. >What does the rule look like in the imail administrator? Like it should. >Do you have Match Case selected? No >Are you using an external file? No >If so, did you hit the ENTER key to get a blank line at the end? No >Is this set up in your main rules.ima or for a virtual domain? Did you copy >the rules.ima file to every user directory? Virtual domain and No. >As to my advice to contact ipswitch -- they are pretty good about accepting >a copy of your config file and telling you what is wrong with the test >setup. My setup is not a test. >And they won't expect that you already read >http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/guide/imailug801/Chapter18%20AntiSpam 8 >.html#11838 and are following all of its tips, necessarily. See there you go again, being condescending. There's no need for that. I've read chapter 18 and every other chapter in the manual, that's why I'm asking for advice. I realize you're some old cougar that's been around a male dominated industry for a long time but do you really feel good about yourself when you put other people down? >Not to mention they might help point the way when rules conflict. This is good!! I did not think about that one. I didn't even now that my rules could conflict. Now I can take a step back and remove some of the rules and see if that makes a difference. Thanks, you've been a huge help (I knew you would)!
