Look closer at these incoming emails and the description of this virus.  We, too, are receiving many emails regarding the Sobig.F virus.  These emails claim that we sent infected emails to these different email contacts.  Some have the file attachments, some don't.  This virus basically spoofs the 'return to' address.  Some of these receiving servers capture the infected emails and automatically reply to the sender based on the spoofed headers, telling the assumed sender that the email they sent was infected, thus warning that they may have sent a virus.  The problem is, most of these contacts are email addresses to those we've never had dealings with.  We also have no record of ever sending to them.  This is because, in fact, our email addresses have been spoofed into emails from the original infected source.  Our addresses could have been pulled from anywhere....from websites, for example.

For starters, if at all possible, tell people not to open these emails...just delete them, and configure them to automatically delete emails with .pif attachments.  Norton Antivirus with current virus definistion files, would catch this virus before it causes any damage, if, in fact, there is an infection anywhere.  If it's not announcing it, you're probably clean.
