At least I'm not going crazy and missing something. If this is a bug, was there ever a patch for it? I don't want to spend the money to go to 8.x and I don't have a service contact so I can't upgrade it.
Despite being such a serious problem, I never saw any release notes that show that it was ever fixed. I'm sure that it was by the time v8 was released, but don't even have confirmation of it. If anyone sees this in release notes, please let me know, as it would be nice to know exactly which version it was fixed in.
