Flash Ram can be mounted as an IDE device. It is faster than a drive, but slower than DRAM. Cost is minimal... .but my concern is 'how many times can it be written to and erased?'... Is it infinite or is there a limit? It works great for the journal drive in journaling file systems and I have considered it for the swap partition on Windows systems. (NTFS is a journaling file system but I don't know how to tell to put it's journal on a different drive, probably isn't a way).
Flash Ram drives might work as spool drives for Imail depending on size of the queue and the answer to my question about life-span.
