I just send an Email to Support regarding this issue. I just wanted to give
you heads-up, so you don't end up putting two techs on the one issue.

Ok, I'll look into it some more but the only reason you would see a Stack
Connect Fail is when Imail is querying the local TCP stack to do a "get host
by name". I will see at what point this occurs and what has happened prior
to this.

Scott,

You're telling me what I already know: this should not be happening.

Im hoping to move towards a solution at this point. Now running 8.03 with
the same problems.

Not being able to contact a DNS server is not an issue.

The *only* time that IMail should use an A record for sending E-mail is if
it has already queried for the MX record, and has been told that the MX
record does not exist.

If there is a DNS timeout or any other issue when looking up the MX record,
IMail should re-queue the E-mail and try it later.

Older versions of IMail (pre-7.04, it seems) would incorrectly use the A
record in certain situations (I believe it would be if the MX records were
tried, but could not be reached).
