I am running a very similar configuration. 7.15 Win2K P3 1G 512 Ram and two 18GB IBM SCSI HD (mirrored) One partition is the OS and one is Imail, KWM 4, Declude virus/junkmail pro and Disk keeper 7 (running every 4 hours). I have one user using webmail exclusively. She has 163 MB folder, about 10 subfolders. In at least two folders she has over 2,000 messages. I copied her folder over to a test user. All folders and messages opened in a second. While I know that this is not the best setup for speed, it has worked for my 1,000+ users. Our server only processes about 5,000 messages or so. I can't afford to have IMAIL to behave slowly should I upgrade to 8.xx.
She has the web set to display only 10 messages at a time, maybe this has something to do with the speed. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of The AreaTech Team Sent: Wednesday, October 01, 2003 7:43 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Webmail Performance I feel your pain, but with us running 7.15 on a win2k amd XP2000 with 256 pc133 ram and a single 15k rpm ultra scsi 36 gig drive, Declude virus/junkmail and fprot, I can open up a 50 meg mailbox with 20 sub mailboxes in a couple seconds. I'm sure there are also other people with similar experiences. So logic would imply that there is something specific to the people having problems.....
