Troy,

This is just my opinion but I would setup a vpn between the sites. Once
logged in have it dchp you an internal address and use something like VNC.
You stated you didn't want to make firewall changes, do the other sites have
a default allow rule for port 80 to go to the machines you need to admin? If
not changes will have to be made anyway. If they already have port 80 open (
port forwarding I would presume ) then you have a security issue. If someone
gets in not only can the hack the box but now they have acess to the entire
network. I think you may want to look at a more secure option unless you
want to get owned by some 13 year old in india running scripts.

Just my opinion. If you nwwd assistance getting something more secure setup
feel free to ask.

Vinny

Subject: [IMail Forum] Way OT: Looking for Remote Administrator software

Hello All,

I need to pick some brains here. I'm looking for an application that will
allow true remote administration and control of laptops/systems for a
regional software pilot we're working on. These are Windows XP laptops that
will be behind firewalls in different states. The problem is I only have
control of my own firewall. So, I need to have a solution that will allow
seamless control without having to bother with firewall changes. (maybe
using port 80?)

I know that Windows XP has an app called Remote Assist which may work but I
have no experience with it. Can anyone recommend anything?

Thanks in advance for any help y'all provide.

Troy
