Nope. That's not it. ASSP runs a Bayesian test on everything that comes in. What it also does is skip filtering for anything on the whitelist, and the whitelist self-generates (there are also other ways to skip processing in the config file). Put simply, anyone a local *auth'd* user emails or cc's is whitelisted. Thus the whitelist gets more extensive and, between the growing whitelist and the seed of spam.not spam files, the system gets smarter over time. Really smart so far as I can see. Users can of course manually whitelist stuff by simply sending an email to the whitelistee. There is also a special address that can be used -- only by an auth'd user, again -- to add a whitelist entry. This seems redundant at first but you can use it along with a scripting language to build your own whitelist form for users who are 'local' but who do not use the Imail smtp server to send mail. So far as I can tell the whitelist feature works splendidly.
