Setup a internal DNS and imail server use it and not any external ones.
I was having this problem when we lost our internet connection, Mail
was immediately returned with unknown host. Just installing MS DNS on
another box fixed this problem.

I am still having this problem. My settings are (again):

Retry timer (on Queue page): 60
Number of retries: 240

Average retry time - ten hours

Could someone simply try this on their server - just send an email to an
invalid email address on a valid server and time how long it takes to
come
back. Look at the time and see how long it takes on your server. It's
driving me batty - I think I've tried everything! Is it possible that
an ETRN against the server invokes queue processing?

Cheers,
Lee

No you don't. You have number of retries set to 60. You have minutes set
to 240, an un-allowed number.
