That is my next option in attempting to get control of the SMTP crashes.

Prior to 8.0 we didn't use anti-spam except at the workstation or end-user server because most of our customers did not want spam filtered that might filter some legetimate email.

They realized that it was getting to be too much and loved it when we started filtering.

I am going to give the Declude product a whirl this week and see if that works. My only problem with that is that I know I will spend plenty of time fine tuning it because of some of my clients needs.
