To everyone following this. I did manage to get the upgrade done. The files that Eric sent me for the new web templates worked and during my call to them on Monday we found that in one of the registry entries it referenced a drive that didn't even exist on the server. We are now running 8.1 without any problems it seems. I will know more as the day progresses to see what users feedback is.
