I had thought the QM Retry timer was to retry files that could not be delivered for whatever reason.
I guess I don't see where you set this QM run time.
We have 8.05 and can't set the retry timer to anything < 10.

This is a simple Pop 3 system - no IMAP or LDAP. Less than 100 mailboxes.
Less than 300 emails a day.
The logs clearly show that the issue is the queue running every 10 minutes
in 8.1. This WAS NOT an issue in 8.0x
If an assistant books a car with Hertz at 12:01 online and the confirmation
is sent back to her boss at 12:02, you can see it in the system at 12:02,
but it waits until the queue runs at 12:11 to deliver it to the Manager's
email box. At that point a copy is forwarded to the Assistant from the
Manager's box so it has to wait until the next time the queue runs, at 12:21
and it arrives in her Mailbox at 12:21. However, if she checks for mail
every 5 minutes, the actual message doesn't appear until 12:25 - a 23 minute
delay.
This took place in a matter of seconds with version 8.0x.
Thus 8.1 has made it appear that we have gone back lightyears in mail
processing.
To make it worse, the time stamp is at 12:02 on the email when the server
received it. Thus the people know its been in limbo for 23 minutes.

Are you using IMAP? This is how I had discovered the fix that HF2 fixed.
The same thing was happening to me. If you look at the logs does it show an
error trying to deliver the message because the main.mbx file is locked? If
so, install HF2. If you laready have....couldn't tell ya other than look at
the logs for your answer.
