Please re-read my post. It had nothing to do with third party products.

If it takes you 100 hours to fix it, you're valuing your time at
$3.50/hour. That's fine for you as an individual. But for a for-profit
company (or even non-profit, if paid employees are involved), stockholders
(or board members) will scream if you pay someone $6 or $10 or $50 an hour
for 100 hours just to save spending $350.
You are welcome to do it yourself (whether or not you save money). But
please don't attack the very logical advice that is here (so logical that
I'm sure many people have lost jobs for not heeding it).
Whatever you say. In any case, people bought _this_ product because it is
to do certain things. A fix for _this_ product is not to go buy more
product. People want to fix what they have. When all else fails, then they
will come to you or some other 3rd party vendor. As I said, until then,
please promote your products elsewhere and help people with the issues at
hand.
