Roland, Have you checked the SMTP Authentication settings for the user whose read replies are being refused (dell8100)? If they're using Outlook with multiple email accounts, it could be that there's a typo in one of the SMTP configurations. Also turn on Debug messages and Verbose logging on the SMTP tab in IMail to see if there's any other indicators that you can find in the log file.
