Raid 5 will save your butt when a drive fails so you might rethink that.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.

I almost forgot, that RAID5 is slow in writing data.

As my instinct told me, i'll go for the blade server. I will use the good
old compaq box as central log-server or as an additional web server.
