I don't think so. The people, including Matrosity, that are complaining the
most don't have very many licenses. I would bet that "old" subscription fee
doesn't support building new products. So, you have to break the agreement
by killing the product and moving the code into something else. This negates
the need to provide the free upgrade which the agreement says we're entitled
and makes us choose between moving on or paying up.

I will wager that the entire management team and
marketing department are reading every one of these
posts in horror.

They realize they have screwed up BADLY. Marketing got
enamored with a couple of high end clients, and
completely lost site of the core business.

I would love to be a fly on the wall of that
hastily-called meeting today where the marketing guys
are going to be boiled in oil. The marketing flaks may
have just cost them the continued viability of
Ipswitch.
