I will wager that the entire management team and marketing department are reading every one of these posts in horror.
I certainly hope so! IMHO, this is a much bigger screw-up than the upgrade to version 4.5 way back when.
For those that were not there, Ipswitch tried to charge for the upgrade from 4.1 to 4.5. Many users here pointed to Ipswitch's own version definition in their contracts and they finally capitulated. But it left a bad taste in many mouths.
I am no longer the final decision maker here, but he is financially tighter than I am... and I can tell you he will not see any value in the new version even at half the $4k cost to us as an ISP. And an annual service price going from $495/yr to $4k/yr is down right highway robbery!
