To: is the addressee. X-RCPT-TO is the recipient. If an email is TP [EMAIL PROTECTED], which is a forward to [EMAIL PROTECTED], the TO: Field remains .com yet I see the message in my .net account. This is because IMail has noticed the forward on the .com account and put in a X-RCPT-TO to .net so I get it.
Mailers can't change the TO without changing the meaning of the message. I can tell if someone has my "old" email address by looking at the TO line and let them know I've moved to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Dan -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Julian Voelcker Sent: Wednesday, November 24, 2004 5:36 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [IMail Forum] GFI MailEssentials unable to route emails from IMail I have been using a program called PoPWeasel to pickup email from IMail and pass to our Exchange 2000 server, which has been working well. We now want to move to using GFI MailEsentials, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be able to route the messages because it isn't picking up the address from the 'To:' field. With PoPWeasel we had to configure it to look at the X-RCPT-TO field in the header to do the routing to overcome a similar problem. Why is it that these programs cannot route messages from IMail based on the To: field - any ideas?
