Certainly I'm not ruling it out completely, but I think there are other things to try first. And like you say, how long before the port scanners start trying other ports looking for "EHLO"s? I'm not going with IMGate for an inbound firewall simply because I think the upkeep will be too time-consuming. However, as an outbound SMTP firewall I simply need it to do one thing: SMTP AUTH proxy.
