Only a scumbag company would distribute your information to other companies for marketing purposes as a result of a trial download of a $6,000 piece of software. For some reason the folks at Ipswitch feel compelled to treat their customers as just simply dollar signs, and it is certainly causing them grief, though the marketing idiots that are making these choices are obviously oblivious. Needless to say, this does not surprise me. They should have fired these people back when the whole ICS thing exploded in their faces. Unfortunately they are now pumping their customer base for support contracts at a 40% increase in price for a piece of software that they refuse to sell to the general public anymore, and they will even nickel and dime their customers by selling their information to third-parties.

Run as fast as you can from the greed of corporate America that has infected this once proud company.

Matt

Sorry, Jill. I don't think stuffing this down in a privacy policy is sufficient, especially for a company marketing communication solutions. Give users the ability to opt-out before your automatic opt-in triggers. I would expect to be contacted by Ipswitch, but not by third-party resellers, unless I asked for that.
