No need to guess. APC's site has a calculator.

Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] OT: KVM over IP & RemoteReboot

We bought a bunch of these units:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00009Q97F/qid=1104441133/sr=8
-2/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i2_xgl23/102-1506490-6107301?v=glance&s=electronics&n=5078
46

from Costco for $99. They've run 30+ minutes in a power outage without
flinching. I'd be concerned hooking up 4-6 machines on one... wouldn't the
draw be too much for it? And what kind of consistent heat would that
generate on it?

I'm also looking into a generator. Would love to be in that situation -
looking at a new building with natural gas in the street that we could have
"unlimited" power if needed.
Anyone take a guess at, say, 60 Dell mid-towers, 300-400 watts, plus a half
dozen heavy duty PowerEdge / Powervaults running at say 500 watts?

ALSO, not to promote them, but I just bought 15 of them... Dell PowerEdges
- 2.53 celeron, 512MB, 80GB, etc., $230 each (hence the need for KVMs).
Yeah, celerons, whatever. A 2.53 celeron still kicks *** against what I
was using 12 months ago....

Thanks
