Gotcha...  I believe you can separate the spool/log directory from the user
directories, but I don't think you can separate spool and log.

I have been doing it, the reason of wishing to separate them is to split
the read/write load of the hard drive between the spooled messages and the
log files by separating them on two different physical drives.
