Question: What happens when your clients gets an automated email from a hotel/airline reservation system? An automated email from their stock trading company? Confirmation of an order from Amazon, etc, etc, etc...
I understand what you are saying but this could be overcome with the address logging feature I spoke of.
Log all the incoming addresses and allow client to search and add from the list. Or even allow them a manual addition which could then be found at the stores web site. The only other thing to overcome would be people faking the senders email address. Even that could be overcome with some form of secure ID from the likes of Amazon or BofA etc.
Maybe the problem is the auto-responder, NOT the screening mechanism that only allows email from approved known sources.
I use this currently in my email clients rules. Only emails from people in my address box ever get to my IN box. All others are quarantined. If I could provide the functionality suggested above in an easy to use interface we could have a winner !
