Okay,  just  double-checking,  as  other  technologies have come along
since I last contirbuted that KB article.

Look  under  the  'Default  SMTP  Virtual  Server' and find the 'Logs'
section. They may be currently off. Turn them on and you'll get a text
file in the referred directory.

That's  not  enough  info.  You  need to provide the server's internal
response  to  the  connection  from  IMail  --  in the logs. It would,
however,  be  helpful  to  see  the same Telnet connection made to the
Exchange  box.  Remember,  you're  setting up a connection between two
servers.  You  don't  know  which  server  is  exhibiting  the primary
problem.
