The current version does:

a) scan all attachments and delete infected files after trying to clean the
virus from the file (can be configured to notify both the sender and
recipient if you wish)
b) strip all executables, with a notification given to the recipient
c) not ignore exe's that are in a ZIP file. It will search inside the ZIP
file and remove it. Also works for RAR, ACE, TAR files, etc

It will also delete a compressed archive (ZIP, RAR, etc) if it is password
protected. This is enabled by default.

I agree about the logs....they are brilliant! You can see exactly what
happened with each individual email that it processes, what it did with it,
why it bounced, etc....I wish other programs had the same level of detail
and ease of use!!!

Subject: Re[2]: [IMail Forum] Symantec SMTP Gateway (Enterprise Edition) and
Imail

I remember talking to someone at Symantec Tech Support
a couple of years back.

There were two requests I had. The first was
tarpitting. He said they had received a lot of requests
for that and were working on it.

He put my second on the customer "wishlist" for
developer evaluation. It was the ability to configure
the following:

a) Antivirus scans all attachments, deletes infected
b) All unzipped executables are stripped with
notification
c) Zipped executables are allowed to pass.

With the then-current version, it was not possible for
all these conditions to be configured at the same time.

SMSSMTP was a pretty good product. It had an excellent
web-based management interface with a brilliant and
effective built-in log search tool. I wish all logs
were that quick and easy to search!
