Please do not gratuitously break my client.

Being able to rename something is an important capability in managing data.
There are times when it is necessary even if infrequent.

If rename is broken as you claim, how about proposing an acceptable alternative
or fix?  (Yes, I do understand fundamentally broken to mean unfixable).
Its fundamentally brokenness has not been proven.  However, removal from IMAP
is not being considered an acceptable fix.  Nor is manually creating folders
and copying messages.
