Unfortunately some IMAP clients are limited by circumstance. I am getting ready to release a PHP based webmail IMAP client which falls in this category, however it only connects once per page load. The only solution I know of to get around this problem for a client written in a language unable to maintain a stateful connection is an imap proxy type solution which presents its own set of problems for which I am not prepared to address at this time. Don't misunderstand me, I realize the amount of functionality I lose by not being able to supply a persistent connection (I am reminded every time my lkml folder changes and I re-issue a sort on 25k+ messages :) however I also recognize the advantages from a system admins point of view of not having to try to manage users using poorly written or insecure desktop based clients (not to mention the advantages of web based email). somewhat OT but just thought I would throw my 2 cents in. \__ Jason Munro \___ [EMAIL PROTECTED] \____ http://hastymail.sourceforge.net/
