The UID has the same meaning for all sessions that have the same UIDVALIDITY and that have been notified about the message. The same is *not* true for message sequence numbers, which is what your original example involved. The same message can be assigned different message sequence numbers for different sessions, even if they have the same UIDVALIDITY. paul
