True, and yet in my experience the number one thing Linux users complain about on Solaris is userland. I totally understand that Unix people see the tao of Unix as superior, and they want to win new users over to that way, and I think that once users adopt OpenSolaris, you guys will have a shot at convincing them that the Unix way wins, but if you don't smooth the path to adopting your product, you'll never even get that shot. People won't even look. You need a beachhead. Providing a GNU-friendly userland isn't a technical challenge, and it won't require heaps of space on the CD. The cost is low and the potential benefits are huge. There is no non-religious reason to not provide it.
