Thanks, Neil ji,
I will go with Tapas ji who is an expert on this family that B.spinosa and
B.squamosa are syn. of *B.retusa* (as in Flora of India), which is also
agreed to by the following well known sources:
The Plant List <http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl/record/kew-24616>
India Biodiversity Portal <http://indiabiodiversity.org/species/show/264257>

Bridelia retusa (L.) - Nationaal Herbarium
Nederland<http://www.nationaalherbarium.nl/Euphorbs/specB/Bridelia.htm>

Catalogue of Life: 2010 Annual
Checklist<http://www.catalogueoflife.org/annual-checklist/2010/details/species/id/7381542>

This has also been discussed previously in our group & details can be seen
at ID
