I am investigating the use of RAID arrays as the primary storage
device for AFS file servers. According to Transarc:

Well, we can't come up with the name of anyone who's actually using these
disks with AFS, but everyone thinks they should work just fine with AFS.
The general consensus is that most of the details of RAID technology
is hidden from the file system, and hence from AFS.

If you have any experience using RAID arrays with AFS servers,
or have any insights into the implications of combining these
technologies, please send email directly to me and I'll consolidate
            the responses.

            Thanks,

At SAS Institute Inc. we have been using AFS 3.1b on hp750 fileservers
with RAID arrays without any problems. We currently have 4 fileservers
with two arrays, and five fileservers with one array, all RAID level 5.
