I've been wondering about this myself for a while, and just verified
my suspicions with one of the developers here at Transarc. Here's
what happens.
If a RW is on the same server and partition as an RO, the RO is a
clone rather than a full copy.
If you move the RW, the "abandoned" RO will become a full copy - IE,
move "does the right thing".
If the destination server and partition also has an RO copy of the RW
volume, the RO copy will NOT become a clone when the RW volume is
moved there, but WILL become a clone after the next vos release.
