Hi,
I have just joined this news group and am starting to get familiar with AFS.
I have a couple of questions but I will tell you a bit about the
background of them first.
We working towards putting ATM into production. We installed an ATM card
into one of the Suns. We had both the ethernet and ATM interface up.
But when we tried to switch from Ethernet to ATM we came into problems
with AFS. A minute after bringing the Ethernet interface down, AFS
would time out. When we brought the Ethernet interface back up, a
minute later AFS would also come back up. We did not know if
this was ATM, AFS or Unix related.
We later figured out that if we rebooted the workstation with the
ATM interface as the first interface brought up and configured, AFS
would work over ATM and we would have the above problems with Ethernet.
This seems to be an AFS specific problem. Can some one confirm this and if
so is there a fix? It would be easier if it was possible to switch interfaces
without having to reboot the machine inorder to run AFS.
