The thing is that VSS is used here by some people, as is CVS on Unix(!). The people here use VSS as a simple control to manage the file access by multiple developers. So there is no experience with branching and merging. According to the VSS manual branching and merging are possible. I am talking about VSS 6.0 Other than try to fix the bug in the NT version, I try to get a Linux box (faster), as it is planned anyway some time down the line. So the NT thingy will be just transitional. If it is clear that it is a bug, then this is a helpful piece of information, too.
