I am looking at FCAL fibre channel stuff as the way forward now with gigs of
cache. I am particularly looking at NAS which scales to over a terrabyte per
volume, and has awesome performance and reliability compared to any RAID system
I know of.

But it still needs to be processed efficiently in high volumes and large numbers
of threads.

Oh - it is_that_Mustang is it? I ran one of their BBS's as well. That was
before I became_the_ beta site and later first ever production site for an all
Windows graphical BBS called "Excalibur". That really was a revolutionary
system, although keeping 8+ports running under Windows 3.0 was challenging to
say the least! I even ran an early Fido BBS on a 300bps modem once :-)
