Setting the maximum message size for the server does not provide the
level of contol I was after. I need to be able to set different maximum
message sizes for each domain, which I can already do, and then
rejection of email based on size should depend on the domain (after any
server level setting).

But does the SMTP server check the domain limits? If not then where do I
put the code to do this? I'm guessing the RCPT template, as long as it
gets a 'msgsize' parameter. Or does the RCPT template (or HELO template)
have to issue the 'EHLO' command that you mention to get the message
size from the remote server and then reject based on domain message size
limits?

Thanks
