I've bought the mxBackup license, but haven't set up the secondary server
yet. I've never set up an MX record in DNS for a backup mail server.
What's involved? How do you designate the IP for the primary over the
secondary? I use Dotster for most of my domains' DNS records, and they have
a priority field which can be set for MX records. Is it as simple as
setting up another MX record with a different priority?

The only other thing, really, is that the secondary server accepts mail for
the domain. The second mail server can either be a full
mail server or we also have a low cost ($50) solution called iMS MS Backup
which is basically a store and forward server which
accepts mail and then stores it until the primary mail server comes back up.

If anyone has something to add, then please do....

Thanks,

Howie
