Hello.

A very low cost solution is to use the free 10 user lic of Post.Office
server from software.com (now phone.com)
(The full version is cabable of 70 000 pop accts, the only limitation on
the free version is the popacct limit, you'll only need 1 or 2 pop
accounts (or forwards) for administration anyway.

We have been using it as our SMTP "gateway" for about 3 years without
any problems.
All our SMTP customers has this as their second MX, and mail is stored
and forwarded as the SMTP customers logs on with their ISDN connection
to transfer mail to/from their network every 30 minutes or so.

Very easy to set up and with good logging capabilities.

Recommended.

(Not as a substitute for iMS of course :))

Well I can understand why, at that price, but we too have a situation
where a low cost store/forward version would be useful. The MX Backup
edition would be fine for this except for that limitation, pretty much
for the same reason Kym outlined.
