Hi Kym,
Thanks for your email.
What we are trying to do is to use iMS as an Autoresponder. We want iMS to
log into a pop account (every 15mins) download the email headers into a
database and then send out replies.
Thanks for your suggestion, which cfpop replacement would you recommend for
reliability ?
Thanks.
I would step back and take a look at what you are trying to do. I gather it
is to collect emails from a mail server elsewhere and then process them
yourself and send the results out by email. That is not pure email
functionality but a lot more than that. iMS can do almost anything if it is
collecting the mail originally but if that is not available then you need
to collect the mail yourself and partly process before handing over to iMS.
A scheduled task is the only way to do that as you have no way to know if a
mail has arrived in the remote mail server or not. I would use one of the
cfpop replacements running on a scheduled CF page using the iMS scheduler
and as the incoming mail is then in a variable in a CF page you can use
iMS's functionality to process it and send it on.
