I think that you should take that 1 hour log file and use the log sorter that comes with iMS and process the file.  Once you do that the sequences of events will be ordered by thread so it's easier to see what is happening.  You should be able to see what happens with a mail job from start to finish and see how long delivery really takes.

I am not expecting the exact same results as in the manual. But I am using them as benchmarks to judge the performance of my installation and look for bottlenecks.

I just used the CYCLEPOST method to create 1 60 minutes log snippet. I searched the log for the number of occurrences of "sent successfully to". I got 6000 results. I understand that this does not account for undeliverable, timeouts etc. But shouldn't I be able to deliver more than 6000 emails per hour? Also, is there something else I can scan the logs for more accurate reporting.
