I'm not a translator at all either, originally I'm more of a computer programmer, but I've always loved the beauty of my native language in all its details, and seeing only English everywhere makes me mad. Didn't we win at the Hundred Years' War? How so many French people write also makes me mad. Many people who write quite correctly end up to compose their scientific reports and the following research in English, and quickly they make less language mistakes in English writings that they ever did with their native language. It makes me sad. Our culture crashes because of a very obsolete education system. Well, not only that. Yes, it has to be done, and I'm skilled at languages, this is also the point.
