Tom,

If it's of any consolation, this happens to me all the time, too.  I am usually able to tell that it's one of the spoofing 'viruses' because they purport to come from a superseded university email address which I haven't used to send mail from for over 12 months.  Many of my chaplaincy colleagues are very naive about the finer points of email and will trustingly open any attachment on any email they receive (even ones from total strangers) so they get infected with every virus going, it seems.  Since I was involved in running an international conference, I now get messages from all over the world telling me that emails I didn't send are infected.  I just keep my anti-virus data files up to date, am ruthless about deleting emails that look even remotely suspicious and check carefully in the headers of any emails I get that say that my computer is infected before panicking.

Grrrrr!  I apologise to everyone for constantly getting email containing viruses with my return address on it.  One of the Insights listees helped me by studying the header (the technical hidden stuff) of one of these emails and made it abundantly clear that these virus laden messages are not from me.

Why they have my address on it almost ALL the time has me flummoxed.

Tom
