Long, Thanks for the reply. This was indeed part of the problem as I was using the same database from a previous install. I've now deleted all my databases (and the RSA key files), re-run rake install and then copied my local development database onto my remote server and copied across the two new RSA files into the root directory. Then I restarted my mongrel action. No errors whilst running rake, however I'm still getting the 'padding check failed' error.
Are there other files I need to copy?
