Hrm...I've been using slakware for about a year and a half, and have been
through three versions (3.3, 3.4, 3.5) on different machines.  I don't
remember what kernel version 3.3 had, but 3.4 had kernel v2.0.30.  I guess
it doesn't matter much, as I doubt your reasons for preferring redhat don't
have much to do with kernel versions.  I'm curious to know what you mean by
"a lot of good things".  While it's true that the noticeable changes to
slackware are pretty much limited to newer versions of software, that is
what attracts me to the dist.  I appreciate the "rawness" of it, as it lets
me get to what I need to, and I don't have to mess with "newfangled" guis.
Redhat is great for people who don't have a lot of time to spend learning
UN*X, but I'm sticking with slak :-)
