Hi,

Anyone aware of this problem on I3000?

I have been running Linux everything OK. Reboot into windows 98, but sound
has gone strange, so I reboot and alter bios settings to auto on serial,
irda, sound, lpt etc.

save and exit from bios and reboot.

Damn thing now refuses to boot because it claims that the keyboard has been
locked!

Error 0213 Keyboard Locked - Unlock key switch.

Strange - machine is now unusable. Dell say its a hardware fault - but I
don't believe them.

Anyone?

Subject: Weird keyboard probs!!?!

Greets,

Anyone else experiencing weird keyboard input on their I3000? This is not
restricted to Linux: it also happens under win95/NT and even in the BIOS!
The
classic symptom is too get mysterious N=B input from the keyboard.

Even better, under NT, these wierd key strokes end up executing keyboard
shortcuts! So, you could be beavering away at something and all of a sudden,
System Properties is displayed on the screen. Sometimes it is really bad and
I
can slightly twist the palm rest area and all sorts of key entries are made.

I've logged a call with Dell and there answer has been to replace keyboard
and
motherboard (that's another story!!). I think it's more shonky casing.

Just wondering if I'm alone on this ...
