Actually, neomagic support under x-win was done by Red Hat if I remember
correctly. There is free code and a free server out there that will
support Neomagic for the 3.xK Laptops (don't forget about us 3000ers out
there >:) ). For the 7K, I know of no good or even not good way to get x
support on a 7k without the XiG server. If someone DID post a bit of
instruction on how to get a 7K to work under (I seem to remember something
about) 800x600 or somethign please post it here, or sent it to either Tomba
or Myself and it will get worked into one of the two documets that are
being supported. Speaking of Tomba, anyone know if he's on this mailing
list or not?

Yikes--my apologies. Somehow I was looking at a different listing....
Don't know how I got to the evil listing, though.

So, to summarize the last couple of days of emails (and thus make this
email semi-useful to the masses it's being mailed to):

Inspiron 3.2K laptops:
-- has a NeoMagic flavor video card which isn't natively supported by
XFree86, so use the metrolink MetroX stuff http://www.metrolink.com .
The specific package is $30 or so.

Inspiron 7K laptops:
-- has the ATI 3D RAGE PRO LT flavor video card which isn't natively
supported by XFree86 either, so use the Xi stuff http://www.xig.com .
The specific package lists at $199 but you can find it cheaper at
http://www.linuxmall.com .

Rock on folks--
