I know this doesn't really help you, but RedHat 5.2 supports the
Neomagic card at 1024x768 - 16bpp directly on install and setup of the
Xfree86 Server. It's pretty with GNOME.
Like I said, I know that didn't help you, but I thought the group should
know.
